Former president Nelson Mandela arrived at his Johannesburg home in Houghton on Thursday afternoon, the SABC reported.
Presidency spokesman Zizi Kodwa earlier in the day confirmed his departure from Mthatha Airport following a two-week visit to his birthplace in Qunu, Eastern Cape.
Kodwa said the elderly statesman was in good health and there was nothing to worry about concerning his well-being.
The broadcaster reported that Madiba arrived at his home accompanied by defence force medical doctor Zola Dabula and his staff.
Mandela made the trip to Qunu late last month for the exhumation of his children Makgatho, Thembekile and Makaziwe for their reburial in Mvezo.
Makgatho Mandela, the father of Mandla Mandela, died in 2005 of an Aids-related illness.
Thembekile Mandela died in a car crash while his father was imprisoned. Makaziwe died in 1947, at the age of nine months.
Madiba fathered all three children with his first wife, Evelyn Mase.
His visit to Qunu came four months after he was admitted to Milpark Hospital for what officials described as “routine tests”. -
