Pretoria - Suspended Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi walked among the people at Fountains Valley park-and-ride facility in Pretoria on Thursday after seeing former president Nelson Mandela's body lying in state at the Union Buildings.
“One of the worst experiences ever,” said Vavi, who also went to the Union Buildings on Wednesday.
He was accompanied by former trade unionist Jay Naidoo.
Vavi and Naidoo seemed overwhelmed, tired and sad. Vavi was unable to comment further.
The crowd cheered when they saw Vavi, shouting “Viva Vavi, viva”.
Tshwane city mayor Kgosientsho Ramokgopa was also walking around talking to people.
