A nanny has kidnapped her employer’s baby and is holding the six-month-old for ransom, a report has said.
A desperate Mita Marobe called Eyewitness News earlier saying her son, Kgosietsile, and the woman were missing from her Pretoria North home.
Several thousand rand, her cellphone and the keys to the house were also missing, she reportedly told EWN.
Marobe said the nanny later sent a message to her sister, demanding money for the baby’s safe return.
She also apparently demanded pin codes to her bank cards and warned Marobe not to go to the police.
She has, however, called the authorities’ for help and they are searching for the baby boy, EWN said.
According to the report, Marobe shares a room with her six-month-old son and the nanny, Lynette Moyo, who has been employed since November. - IOL

Being a parents, we all need to be listening with our heart and mind that our child is very delicate. Our children is our future. This is the steps we all need to begin with our childrens. first, teach your child to know what is right and wrong. Second, give a lots of attention. Third, when they are starting to grow up. Introduce them to your church. fourth, any sports and martial arts. Martial arts will help them find their freedom of goods and help them gain respect and Discipline. All these will help us. Godbless you all

How can a mother sleep with a nanny on the same bed, while the baby sleep in a cot? The mother was just being irresponsible. And again how can this mother have R5000 cash in her purse and still owing the nanny. Sepedi se re: ke moipolai yo a sa llelwego

At which point did I suggest that the maid was justified in taking the baby? I merely raised an alternative opinion, which is basically be careful how you treat your domestic staff. Some of you need to be less hysterical about things without considering all the facts. Sheesh!!

@ The Lastword - so according to you and the news that you apparently heard this nanny was not paid for last month, am I correct? So not being paid for a month, while no doubt having free board & lodging (I'm sure you'll correct me if I've got it wrong but that would appear to be the case if she & the mother shared a room) and not having to pay transport to and from her place of employment, she (and apparently you) feel that she is well within her rights to kidnap a child and hold him to ransom? You are as sick as she is! Did your news item perhaps mention why she wasn't paid?

@Lastword and others - stop blaming the victim. No-one put a gun to the employee's head and forced her to accept whatever wage she gets. Even if you're not paid in a month, you don't steal the baby - you leave employment and put in a civil claim at small claims court. It's got to do with employing criminals. Take heed from this - check out the prospective employee with your local police station. Employ foreigners at your own risk.

Things like this have to be published how else do we make people aware. Its irrelevant what her reasons are. She violated her morals and ethics for money. No mother deserves to feel the absolute loss of not having her child with her. You do the crime you must do the time. No sympathy for stupidity.

At Anonymous 1:35pm....I happened to watch the news this morning where the FULL story of why this woman has kidnapped the child was reported. That's where I got my information from, as to whether or not she's a foreigner is neither here nor there.

What are you guys talking about how do you know how much she gives the domestic please don’t assume. The nanny is wrong for what is is doing and that is it. The mother obviously cant afford to pay her R2000 a month they share a room how much do you think she earns?

@maduks and @The Lastword. Where in this article does it say that the nanny was not properly financially compensated for her job or that she's a foreigner? Your statements dont make sense... I hope the baby gets returned safely to his mother soon.

Pay your domestic worker if you're going to have her look after your most precious possessions. I never understand people who treat their domestics like garbage but are still brave enough to let them in their homes on a daily basis. Let's hope this is resolved quickly and safely.
