Johannesburg - A man in his mid-20s was killed after he was hit by a car on the N3 in Modderfontein, east of Johannesburg, on Saturday morning, paramedics said.

“It is understood that the man was walking along the highway when his cap apparently blew off into the highway and he tried to fetch it,” ER 24 spokesman Werner Vermaak.

Vermaak said paramedics found him with multiple fatal injuries.

The driver of the vehicle had minor injuries and was treated at the scene. - Sapa
