Johannesburg - The electricity supply from Orlando power station in Soweto has been cut off, City Power said on Wednesday night.
“The technicians are currently investigating the cause of the problem,” said City Power spokesman Sol Masolo.
He said technicians would work through the evening to determine what went wrong.
“We are also committed to working through the night and not to stop operations until we are able to reconnect electricity to the affected areas.”
The affected areas include parts of Roodepoort, Hursthill, Auckland Park and other sections of northern Johannesburg.
