Johannesburg - There has been an outpouring of anger over a man who prohibits “blacks and government workers” from staying at his KwaZulu-Natal guesthouse because “it’s God’s law” to segregate people by race.

Some social media users have called for André Slade’s Sodwana Bay Guest House to be boycotted after he responded to a booking by Sizakele Msimango by saying: “We do not accommodate blacks or government employees any longer.”

Msimango was left shocked after the 52-year-old man sent her a terse e-mail in response to her booking on Wednesday.

“I was so angry,” said Msimango, who e-mailed Slate to book for 12 people after she and her cousin found the guesthouse - whose tagline on the internet is “Better than home”.

In his blog, Wheretofromhere.org, Slade states that blacks need to be kept separate from other races. He also calls DA leader Mmusi Maimane a “beast”and “little bastard”.

Scores of people have since lambasted the self-proclaimed “King of the Zulu/Heavenly Kingdom” since a screen shot of the e-mail to Msimango as well as a video of The Star interviewing him were posted on the newspaper’s social media sites, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

In the video, he can be heard saying that he was aware that the constitution did not allow discrimination based on race, but he followed only one law.

“Well, according to your constitution, perhaps yes, but we work according to God’s law, and according to God’s law, we have to have some sort of segregation between the creation that he left here... the law you have in South Africa is Satan’s law.”

In response to these posts, Jakes Doorsamy wrote on Facebook: “We truly do not have space nor time for people like this. Now that blacks are not allowed there, whites must also show their solidarity and boycott the place. This will see the end of his business and he can then dedicate his time to continued praying.”

Also commenting on The Star’s Facebook page was Levee Lesufee, who said Slate “sounds as evil or cruel as the rhino poacher whom must be locked up and throw away the keys (sic)”.

On Twitter, @Pensta_ responded to the incident and posted: “@TheStar_news what a load of rubbish. No race issues in the bible. We are all souls of Gods kingdom no matter what your color. Seriously.”

South African Human Rights Commission spokesman Isaac Mangena said he was not aware of the incident.
