Johannesburg - A number of roads will be closed around the FNB stadium on Saturday for the Carling Black Label Cup match between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, Johannesburg metro police said.

The Soweto highway, Nasrec and Rand Show roads would be blocked from 9am, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said on Friday.

“Cars without valid parking tickets will not be allowed past the control points. Fans are encouraged to use Metrorail services, Top Six taxis, Rea Vaya park and ride, and KTK shuttles from the Gautrain stations,” he said.

Some trains would operate from Vereeniging, Leralla, Springs, Mabopane, and Pienaarspoort.

Park and ride pick-up points would be at the University of the Witwatersrand metro centre, the University of Johannesburg campus and Constitution Hill in Braamfontein.

The roads would be re-opened at 8pm.
