Johannesburg - Traffic will be disrupted around the George Thabe Stadium in the Vaal due to a Human Rights Day event on Friday, the Gauteng community safety department said.

“The Human Rights Day event has already kicked off and is expected to end at around 6pm and add an hour to allow people to clear,” said spokesman Obed Sibasa.

Masses of people were expected to attend the event taking place on the cricket pitch in the stadium.

“It is already packed on Zwane Street, Dlamini Road and Seiso Street in Sebokeng,” said Sibasa.

Motorists were advised to use alternative routes.

There would be a heavy police presence in the area, he said.
