Johannesburg - Three people were trapped in a building that partially collapsed in Power Park, Soweto, on Wednesday, Johannesburg emergency management services said.
“The urban search-and-rescue team are currently in the building at this stage,” spokeswoman Nana Radebe said.
“When we got on scene we found one person injured, who called, and he was taken to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
“He alleged that there were seven of them. Three (made it) out. The whereabouts of the other three are unknown at this stage.”
The seven were allegedly stealing cables and metal from the building.
Emergency services were contacted around 7.30am. Police were also on the scene. - Sapa
