Johannesburg - A man died when his tractor rolled over and crushed him in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, on Tuesday, paramedics said.

“Apparently the man was busy ploughing the soil near an embankment when the tractor failed to grip, slid down the embankment and rolled onto the deceased’s chest,” ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.

Other farm workers used vehicles and ropes to pull the tractor off him. When paramedics assessed him they found he had suffered severe chest and abdominal injuries. He died on the scene.
