Johannesburg – Two people died and two others were injured in a collision in Vanderbijlpark on Saturday evening, Gauteng paramedics said.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said the accident occurred on Frikkie Meyer Boulevard close to Noble Road.

Two cars were found to have been involved in a head-on collision.

A man had been ejected from one of the cars and was declared dead at the scene.

“Sadly there was nothing paramedics could do for him. He was declared dead,” Bodasing said.

The second car had three passengers, and a woman seated in the front had died.

The driver of the vehicle and the back seat passenger were assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries.

They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.

The exact cause of the accident was unknown, but authorities were investigating.
