Durban – A woman believed to be in her 20s died on Saturday morning when she was hit by a car in Clermont Road in Clermont, Durban, ER24 paramedics have said.
"It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle, hit the woman, and crashed into a gate at a property.
The woman landed in the yard of the property," ER24 spokeswoman Chitra Bodasing-Harduth said.
ER24 paramedics attended to the incident and assessed the woman. She had sustained multiple severe injuries and was unresponsive. Paramedics initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but despite all efforts the woman died.
"The exact details surrounding the incident are unknown. However, information received on scene was that the driver was apparently transporting a friend who had been stabbed to hospital. That patient had apparently been transported to hospital after the crash privately," Bodasing-Harduth said.
