Johannesburg - The NSPCA was searching for two zebras near Hammanskraal, Pretoria on Thursday.
“We had reports from the public that the zebras were seen along the N1 highway,” said Rick Allan, managing director of the Tshwane Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The society had sent a team to search for the zebras.
He urged people to keep away from them and not try to catch them. It was not known where the animals came from.
Allan urged motorists driving on the highway to be cautious and call the society should they spot them.
