Cape Town - Lotto players stand a chance of winning a guaranteed R15 million jackpot in tonight’s draw.

National lottery operator Gidani spokeswoman Dudu Ndendwa said guaranteed jackpots had become an exciting tradition that Lotto players looked forward to every month.

In Lotto’s birthday month of March, Gidani gave away R70m. A lucky player from KwaZulu-Natal won the first R10m jackpot that had rolled over to R11.4m. Lady Luck also smiled on a player from Gauteng, who won the second R20m jackpot, while two winners from the Western Cape shared the third R40m jackpot.

“We wish all players the best of luck this weekend,” Ndendwa said, adding that when claiming a prize, it was important to bring the winning ticket, the ID document of the person whose name was on the back of the ticket, and a bank stamped copy of their most recent bank statement.

“Our winner services department prides itself on the efficient service that we provide.

“We strive to pay winners within four hours of claiming their prize,” she said, adding that they emphasised the need for players to know exactly what to take along to facilitate the claims process.

“The validation process cannot even begin without the necessary documentation, hence the emphasis on the need for players to know exactly what they need to bring when they come to claim.”
