Johannesburg - The IFP in KwaZulu-Natal has called on women to get tested for cervical cancer.

“We want to encourage women to go and get tested at their nearest clinic,” Inkatha Freedom Party spokeswoman Ncamisile Nkwanyana said in a statement.

Regular pap smears can save lives by detecting abnormalities at an early stage.

“This particular form of the disease can be a silent killer as it has no obvious symptoms, which is why pap smear testing is so crucial,” she said.

The IFP also encouraged men to get tested for prostate cancer.
