Youth activist Stompie Seipei's killer has died in jail, according to media reports on Tuesday.
Jerry Richardson, who was serving a life sentence at Johannesburg's Leeuwkop prison for Seipei's murder, died of natural causes last week. He was in his 50s.
Richardson, a coach at the Mandela United Football Club in Soweto, alleged that Winnie Madikizela-Mandela had instructed him to kidnap, torture and kill the 14-year-old boy for being a police informant.
He testified at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 1997 that he had kidnapped the boy on Madikizela-Mandela's instructions.
She, however, denied involvement, but was sentenced to six years in jail for her role in the crime. - Sapa
