Cape Town - Eleven children were injured on Friday when the taxi they were travelling in left the road and crashed into a tree in New Germany, KwaZulu-Natal.
ER24 reported that the accident happened on Friday afternoon near Dinkalman Road.
“ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the taxi off the road up against the tree. Children from the vehicle were found sitting around the vehicle.
“On assessment, paramedics found that 11 children, aged between 4 and 10, had sustained minor injuries in the collision. Two of the children were found to be handicapped.”
Paramedics treated the patients on scene for their injuries before transporting them to nearby hospitals for further observations.
The cause of the accident was not known but local authorities were on scene to investigate.
