Pinetown – Twenty schoolchildren were injured Wednesday morning when the taxi they were travelling in rolled down an embankment off the M1in Marianhill, Pinetown.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics arrived on the scene at about 07:40 am and found a minibus taxi lying on its roof at the bottom of the embankment.

"Several children had already climbed out of the vehicle and were found walking around on the scene," said Meiring.

"Paramedics assessed the children and found that 20 had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported."
