The ANC announced its newly-elected leadership in the eThekwini region on Sunday.

Health MEC Dr Sbongiseni Dhlomo was elected chairman, Phelelani Mshengu deputy chair, Bhekithemba Ntshangase secretary, Monica Jama deputy secretary and Zandile Gumede treasurer, party spokesman Bongani Mthembu said.

ANC delegates in the eThekwini region, the biggest in KwaZulu-Natal, gathered at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban on Saturday to elect new leaders. More than 500 delegates attended the elective conference.

The provincial leadership and the new leaders were expected to brief the media later on Sunday. - Sapa
