Durban - A three-week-old baby boy and his mother were hit by a truck on the corner of Bluff Road and Edwin Swales Drive in Durban on Monday morning, paramedics said.

They found the critically injured boy lying on the road after the accident, Rescue Care spokesman Garrith Jamieson said.

“The mother was lying next to her child in pain,” he said.

The boy was stabilised on the scene by the paramedics and taken to Nkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital.

His mother was also transported to hospital.
