Durban - The body of an unidentified man has been found floating off the Durban North coast, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said on Sunday.

“On arrival on-scene... the body of an unidentified male, estimated to be aged in his 20s, was recovered by police search and rescue onto our sea rescue craft,” spokesman Craig Lambinon said.

The body, found about 3.7km from the shore, was brought to the NSRI's Durban base and handed to forensic pathology services.

The NSRI were notified of the body around 8.45am on Saturday.
