The affordable education loan option
Pietermaritzburg - A simple, honest gesture of returning a lost cellphone made a big impact on a Pietermaritzburg family when they woke on Sunday.
During a family outing to the Pavilion on Saturday, seven-year-old Nikhiel Ishwarduth lost his Samsung phone.
“We went back to The Hub to look for it, knowing we wouldn’t find it but just to please him,” said Nikhiel’s father, Pravin.
After an unsuccessful search, the Ishwarduth family had a sad drive back home while young Nikhiel contemplated how he was going to save his pocket money to buy a new phone.
But, to their surprise, they received a phone call from a store manager at The Hub, saying someone had handed in the phone to security.
“Vanessa (Sanders) contacted me, which couldn’t have been easy as I wasn’t listed as ‘dad’ in the phone,” he said.
“It’s so difficult to find an honest person today. We are so grateful to this person,” said Pravin.
