Durban - Some Christians are fuming, saying KZN Pastor Sthembiso Zondo has done nothing wrong and should be left alone, after a video of him walking naked in his home went viral over social networks this week.

The video of the divorced pastor was allegedly taken by a woman who was with him in his lounge. A foot with a nail painted with pink nail polish appears in the video.

Zondo has a slot on the South African radio station with the largest listenership, Ukhozi FM. His name was on many lips on Tuesday when the video showed him walking around his house, touching his genitals, while on the phone.

On Wednesday, The Mercury’s sister paper Isolezwe spoke to some of the congregants who attend Zondo’s Zero to Hero Church in Durban, asking their opinions about the video showing their pastor in his “birthday suit”.

Thanda Muthwa cited the example of the woman in the Bible caught red-handed committing adultery.

“Jesus said: ‘Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.’

“I congratulate Zondo for being exposed. There are people who have done similar things but were not busted,” Muthwa said.

Thabani Nkabinde said: “We cannot judge him yet because he has never said anything, since he is still fasting.”

On social media, some people said the video was intended to defame Zondo, while others said he had done nothing wrong as he had been behind closed doors.

The Citizen newspaper reported that Ukhozi FM would launch an investigation into the video.
