Pietermaritzburg - Fourteen people were injured when a truck transporting mangoes and people overturned in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday morning, paramedics said.

The truck overturned on the N3 near Liberty mall at about 8.30am, said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha.

“After triaging the injured it was found that two people sustained serious injuries while 10 others escaped with minor injuries,” Botha said.

They were treated on the scene before they were transported to hospital.

Paramedics found the 14 injured, accident debris and the fruits scattered across the highway, he said.

“Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain subject for police investigation.”
