Durban - It was also the marrying of two different Nguni cultures – the Zulu and Swazi culture – when Khulubuse, the larger-than-life nephew of President Jacob Zuma married his long-time sweetheart Princess Fikisiwe Dlamini.

The drop-dead gorgeous Swazi princess brought a sizeable wedding party to Nkandla on Saturday to say I do to her ever-smiling groom.

The high-profile ceremony took place in full view of thousands of guests in attendance.

The couple’s fairy-tale love story came full circle when they married in the very same place where they met over a decade ago.

Khulubuse met Fikisiwe about 10 years ago when she visited her sister, Princess Sebentile Dlamini, at Nkandla.

Fikisiwe is the younger sister Sebentile.

Sebentile was Zuma’s fiancée at the time whom the president paid lobolo for in 2002.

Khulubuse, 44, is reported to have proposed in 2005 and paid a relatively small lobola of 100 head of cattle.

The wedding was supposed to happen last year but due to glitches with lobola, the nuptials had to be put on hold.

Fikisiwe, 33, is the daughter of Mswati’s brother, Phiwokwakhe Dlamini, who died in 2005.

Saturday’s traditional wedding was preceded by another lavish bridal ceremony which took place at Swazi King Mswati’s Ludzidzini Royal Village outside Mbabane on Thursday.

The large-living Khulubuse is a former director of liquidated mining consortium Aurora which two years ago plunged into deep financial crisis and went for months without paying the workers.
