Man drowns on Durban beach

Durban – A man, believed to be a Russian national, drowned at Durban’s popular North Beach on Sunday morning.

Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha, said lifeguards pulled the man from the surf and started resuscitation.

Advanced life support paramedics arrived within minutes, but despite their efforts, the man believed to be in his 40s, was declared dead on the beach. Further details were not immediately available.
