An employee of a contractor working for Eskom was electrocuted near Nottingham Road in KwaZulu-Natal on Friday, paramedics said.

ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks said the man, believed to be in his 20s, had been working on power lines on Holly Farm in the Nottingham Road area in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, when he was electrocuted.

A statement issued by Eskom confirmed that the man had worked for a company that was contracted by the national electricity supplier.

“The incident is under investigation and currently no further details are available,” Eskom said in a statement.
