The pilot of a light aircraft that crashed at Margate airport in KwaZulu-Natal last weekend died on Friday, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said the man was taken to hospital after his plane crashed on Sunday.

His passenger, a woman, died on the scene. Both were from Pinetown. - Sapa
