Three people were arrested on Monday for stealing 19 vehicles from a car dealership in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Lieutenant-Colonel Vincent Mdunge said a task team was set up to investigate after the theft on Saturday.

Three men were arrested. One was Portuguese and a second was Mozambican. The nationality of the third was not clear.

Mdunge said 10 of the stolen cars were recovered in Amanzimtoti and in Durban. An eleventh vehicle seized was being driven by one of the thieves and did not belong to the car dealership.

Mdunge said the three would appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. - Sapa
