Durban - KwaZulu-Natal should brace itself for more thunderstorms and cold weather going into the weekend, said the SA Weather Service this morning.

Forecaster, Stacy Colborne, warned of severe thunderstorms and a 60% chance of rain over KZN.

Temperatures will remain in the low to mid-20ºC and are only expected to go up on Friday, with the mercury expected to rise to more than 30ºC.

As the rest of the province enjoys a balmy day, thundershowers are forecast for the South Coast.

These will extend to the Drakensberg; however, no snow is expected.

The temperature is expected to drop again at the weekend all around the province, getting as low as 18ºC in the Midlands.

In the past two days, parts of the province, including Durban and uThukela District, experienced some isolated showers with lightning.

The public is advised to be cautious at all times.
