One dead in Durban taxi crash

The ICD is investigating the death of a 21-year-old man who was allegedly killed by police during a protest in Tlokweng.

One person died and 20 were injured when a taxi overturned in Durban on Tuesday morning, said ER24.

“There is one person dead and two people critical. Seven others were seriously injured and 11 people suffered minor to moderate injuries,” said ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks.

He said the taxi overturned on the M13 in Durban at 7am, leaving passengers trapped underneath the vehicle.

“Members of the public pushed the taxi back over,” said Banks.

All the injured would be transported to hospitals in and around Durban. - Sapa
