Durban – A woman was killed and a man critically injured when a bakkie and a car collided in Pietermaritzburg on Thursday, paramedics said.
Netcare 911 spokeswoman Athlenda Mathe said the collision happened on the R56 shortly after midday.
The elderly man was taken to a nearby hospital while the woman was declared dead at the accident scene. Both were drivers of their respective vehicles.
Mathe said it was not clear why the two vehicles had collided and police were investigating the crash.
