Durban - Light snow has fallen at the border of Lesotho and KwaZulu-Natal, the SA Weather Service said on Thursday.

“It fell on the peaks of the mountains at the border. It happened overnight and into this morning (Thursday),” said forecaster Edwin Thema.

“The snow is on the peaks and not close to any roads. It should melt in the next few days.”

On its website, the Tiffindell Ski Resort, located in the area, confirmed the snowfall and put up pictures of it.

“First snow of 2014 has fallen,” it said, adding that the minimum temperature was at four degrees.
