Teacher dies after ashtma attack

Durban - The KwaZulu-Natal education department conveyed its condolences to the family of teacher Jetrina Biyela, who died after an asthma attack on Friday morning.

“Our fervent prayers are with her family during this very difficult time,” education MEC Neliswa Peggy Nkonyeni said.

Education spokesman Isaac Luthuli said Biyela had a “severe asthma attack” and was taken to Kingsway Hospital early on Friday morning but died at 3am.

Biyela was marking senior certificate examination papers for the adult education and training exams at Adams College near Amanzimtoti.

She was a teacher at Nsikayendlu High School.
