Durban - Two people were killed when their bakkie overturned near the R617 in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said on Tuesday.

Another eight people were injured in the accident on Monday night, said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene, a large group was gathered around the various injured, all of whom were ejected from the vehicle,” he said.

“The emergency workers on scene treated the various patients, most of whom suffered severe head and neck trauma and required advanced life support.”

The injured were taken to hospital.

Meiring said the bakkie apparently veered off the road and landed on its roof. - Sapa
