Johannesburg - A 41-year-old woman was arrested with dagga worth over R1.7million in Emanguzi, northern KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday, police said.

“It is alleged that when police swooped on the homestead they discovered 163 bags of dagga stashed in one of the houses on the premises,” Colonel Jay Naicker said.

“The total weight of the drugs is 1723,67 kg and is estimated to have a street value of R1,72 million.”

Naicker said police searched another house on the homestead and found three 458 Winchester Magnum rounds.

The woman owns the homestead.

She is expected to appear in the Emanguzi Magistrate's Court on Monday, on dealing in drugs and illegal possession of ammunition charges. - Sapa
