Zuma bodyguard injured in crash

Pretoria – A police officer attached to the Presidential Protection Services and a civilian woman were injured in an accident which occurred on the M4 highway in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday night.

In a statement issued by the office of the National police Commissioner, it confirmed the accident which involved the presidential convoy. The accident occurred at about 6:30pm.

“The presidential convoy was travelling towards the King Shaka International Airport when a woman travelling in the opposite direction collided with the lead vehicle of the convoy,” the statement said.

“Three other members only sustained minor injuries while the 37-year-old sergeant and the woman were transported to hospital for treatment.”

Police management and the Presidency wished both the police officer and the injured woman a speedy recovery.
