Polokwane – Eleven people were injured when a minibus taxi and a car collided on the R71 in Magoebaskloof Pass between Tzaneen and Polokwane early on Saturday morning, Limpopo paramedics said.

“It is believed that both drivers did not see each other and both cut a corner which led to the collision,” ER24 spokesman Pieter Rossouw said.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene they found the taxi on its roof. Most of the passengers of the taxi had already exited the vehicle. After assessment it was found that 11 people had sustained minor injuries. Fortunately no serious injuries were sustained.”

ER24 treated and transported three patients to Van Velden Memorial Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other services, Rossouw said.
