Johannesburg – Eight of the 10 Zion Christian Church congregants, who died when the bus they were travelling in overturned in Limpopo, have been identified.

The deceased, who included an 11 month-old baby, perished on the R528 in Magoebaskloof while they were on the way back from the Holy City of Moria over the weekend. They were travelling in a Tzaneen Great North Transport (GNT) bus.

The deceased were named as; Rebecca Paulina Pilusa, 44, and her 11-month-old baby Motheane Monyela, Molatelo Rebecca Pilusa, 60, Enos Mahlolane Shai, 35, and Foster Sebila,12, all from Phalaborwa. The others Modjadji Kwathisu Mashimbyi, 63, Janet Matlala Rapetswa, 53, and Mbanzina Midlovu, 42, were from Giyani.

Limpopo police spokeswoman Colonel Ronel Otto said on Wednesday two victims were yet to be identified. Police were investigating a case of culpable homicide.
