Polokwane - The Peter Mokaba Stadium erupted into cheers when President Jacob Zuma arrived for Cosatu's May Day rally in Polokwane on Thursday.

The crowd chanted “Zuma, Zuma, Zuma” as the president, dressed in a grey Chinese-collared suit, walked a lap around the stadium.

Zuma waved and smiled at the cheering crowd dressed in yellow African National Congress T-shirts and red trade union shirts.

He was flanked by Congress of SA Trade Unions president Sidumo Dlamini, SA Communist Party general secretary Blade Nzimande, and other Cosatu members.

Last month, residents jeered at Zuma at Malamulele in Limpopo when he told them their grievances would be addressed.
