Eduanpark, polokwane

A pregnant woman was killed on Friday when her car was hit by a train in Eduanpark, Polokwane, paramedics said.

The vehicle came to a stop where the train crossed the road and was struck on the side, Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said.

The woman sitting in the back was killed. The driver jumped out in time and was unharmed.

Wicks said it was not immediately clear what had caused the car to stop at the crossing. - Sapa
