Johannesburg – The world has lost a great person with the death of former president Nelson Mandela, golfer Retief Goosen said on Friday.
“Nelson Mandela was an inspiration not only to South Africans, but the world over,” he said in a statement.
“I remember the very first time I met Mandela, which was in 2002, and the first thing he said when he came into the room was:
'Where's the Goose?', and he came over and shook my hand.”
Mandela would be sadly missed, said Goosen, hoping his beliefs and values would live on.
