Johannesburg - The Farlam Commission of Inquiry into the events surrounding the shooting of 34 Lonmin mineworkers continues on Thursday in Rustenburg.

Aerial photos and videos captured hours before the event were screened on Wednesday at the Rustenburg civic centre, where the commission is sitting.

They were captured by the police and Lonmin security between August 9 and 16.

An August 16 video showed a delegation of the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) arriving at Marikana around noon to address miners gathered on a hill.

Amcu president Joseph Mathunjwa started off by negotiating with the police, and asking to use a police megaphone to address the striking workers.
