Four people died and seven were injured when their minibus taxi overturned on the N3 near the De Hoek toll plaza, in Grootvlei, Mpumalanga, on Friday morning, said paramedics.

The minibus taxi apparently veered out of control before rolling at 10.30am, ER24 spokesman Andre Visser said in a statement.

Paramedics arrived to find two men and two women dead, said Visser.

Two more women and a man had been seriously injured. Two of them were airlifted to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.

The other injured people were treated on the scene and were taken to various hospitals in the area. - Sapa
