A fire warning has been issued in Mpumalanga, the department of co-operative governance and traditional affairs said on Wednesday.
“(We) would like to advise all residents that a very high fire index is expected over all parts of the province from today (Wednesday)... until Friday 17 August 2012,” it said in a statement.
“These conditions are prone... to runaway fires.”
The department advised residents to be cautious, not start fires, throw burning cigarette stubs into the open veld, or leave heaters unattended.
