Three killed in bakkie crash near Lydenburg

Durban - Three men were killed when the bakkie in which they were travelling rolled near Lydenburg, paramedics said on Thursday.

Netcare 911 spokeswoman Athlenda Mathe said the bakkie, which was carrying wood rolled on the R36 on Wednesday night.

The three had been flung clear of the bakkie and were found lying on the ground by paramedics.

They were declared dead at the scene.

Mathe said one man also sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The R36 was closed for a number of hours. The accident is being investigated.
