Two killed in Long Tom Pass crash

Lydenburg -Two people were killed and three injured in a head-on collision near Lydenburg in Mpumalanga, paramedics said on Saturday.

Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said the accident happened on Friday night on the Long Tom Pass outside Lydenburg.

The three injured people were found to be in a serious condition and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The cause of the collision was not immediately known and was being investigated.

The Long Tom pass is located on the R37 between Lydenburg and Sabie in Mpumalanga and reaches a height of 2150 metres.
