Johannesburg - A case of culpable homicide was opened after 12 people died in an accident involving two vehicles in Vryburg, North West police said on Thursday.
Spokesman Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said a 10-year-old survived the crash.
“According to information available at this stage, two vehicles - a Chevrolet Captiva with ten occupants and a Toyota Hilux with three people collided head-on along the road between Vryburg and Ganyesa at 5pm on Wednesday.”
“All occupants of the Chevrolet Captiva together with two adults from the Toyota died during the accident. The third occupant from the Toyota Hilux, a 10-year-old boy, survived the accident and was admitted to hospital with serious injuries.”
The Chevrolet carried three adults and seven children, he said.
