Cosatu ‘disappointed’ by ANC

"We are disappointed that the same ANC that has been complaining that the alliance is dealing with the media is the one telling us through the same media that there has been a reshuffle in the North West legislature," provincial secretary Solly Phetoe said.

The ANC in the North West “publicly undermined” Cosatu by telling the media about its legislative restructuring first, and not directly informing the organisation, the union federation said on Wednesday.

“We are disappointed that the same ANC that has been complaining that the alliance is dealing with the media is the one telling us through the same media that there has been a reshuffle in the North West legislature,” provincial secretary Solly Phetoe said in a statement.

Cosatu said it would continue talking to the media until the ANC respected their alliance and discussed decisions with it first.

There had also been no alliance meeting between the ANC and Cosatu to discuss the outcome of the local government elections.

“For them it is not about the servicing of poor communities in the province. Since their conference in February, they have only discussed tenders for themselves and who becomes the MEC of what,” Phetoe charged.

The North West ANC was not immediately available for comment. -
