Zeerust, North West -

A man from Botswana died when his vehicle collided head-on with a bakkie on the N4 near Zeerust on Monday morning, North West police said.

The 31-year-old was travelling alone from Groot Marico to Zeerust when a tyre burst. He lost control of the vehicle and it veered into incoming traffic, said Sergeant Kelebogile Moiloa.

He was declared dead on the scene.

Two occupants of the bakkie were taken to Zeerust hospital in critical conditions.
